Referral Base: Lower extremity edema.
You will be seen by a vascular surgeon and a nurse for assessment, diagnosis and treatment for leg edema. If needed, Coban 2 wraps will be started. ADP Authorization for compression therapy and lymphedema pumps (Primary Lymphedema).
Please note we only complete ADP Authorization for funding when you are seen by a vascular surgeon from Toronto General Hospital. We cannot complete ADP Authorization if you have been seen by another physician.
Please have your family doctor send the referral to the Vascular Surgeon on call at 416-340-5029.
The referral should include all pertinent medical history regarding your lymphedema.
It is requested the following tests be completed and results sent with the referral:
ECHO to rule out cardiac cause for leg edema, Abdominal and pelvic ultrasound to rule out a mass as a cause for leg edema, Venous leg ultrasound to rule out DVT.
Blood work: TSH, Liver Function, Cr, CBC, Lytes
